Sian has been involved in community
productions from an early age, first
treading the boards at Haddo House
in Aberdeen aged 7 years in The
Merry Wives of Windsor
. She
then moved to Oxford and joined
the Oxford Youth Theatre at the
Old Fire Station before returning
to Aberdeen to join the Aberdeen Youth Theatre.

Her premier appearance at the Edinburgh Fringe was in The Golden Pathway Annual in 1982 with the Aberdeen group.

Sian has studied her craft with The Scottish Youth Theatre, Edinburgh's Telford College and the HB Studio in New York (Herbert Berghoff and Uta Hagen). Whilst in New York she played 'Chava' in an off 'Broadway' production of Fiddler on the Roof in 1989. She was the supporting actress in a short film Dial S for Slingback in 1990.

Moving Parts were first introduced to Sian in 1992 when she became their project support worker at WHALE Arts Agency. Her skills have developed over the years as Production Coordinator as she became the Manager of WHALE in 1996 improving her Project Management skills in designing and developing community cultural activities.
