FRINGE 2008

This sparky Chekhov adaptation leads you through a battle of the sexes and explores the confused creatures love creates.

The Boor is a short play by Anton Chekhov, adapting the piece and opening up the story behind Chekhov’s words let us play with the battle of the sexes theme. What is it that attracts us to relationships that are less than perfect? How do we keep alive the human spirit of love when all the indicators are flashing red that it’s time to quit. What does infidelity and power have to do with a dead husband, a debt collector and young widow? Passion unites the characters in both life and death. Chekhov allows us to laugh at the absurdity of the human heart and recoil at the actions of the wounded.
